The NASCAR Cup Series season unofficially begins with The Clash inside LA Coliseum on Sunday, then is jumpstarted officially on Feb. 19 with the Daytona 500.

So you have some time to get acclimated to the driver changes and ride switches for 2023, like Kyle Busch in the No. 8 car.

Yeah, it'll take some getting used to that.

Busch's move to Richard Childress Racing is one of several moves in the Cup Series, including the (re?) addition of a 7-time champion on a part-time basis and a sneaky good move from an up-and-coming two-car team.

Let's go through the Cup Series changes for 2023.

2022 ride: Finished his final season in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota with a win and a playoff berth.

New ride in 2023: Busch filled the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet seat vacated by Tyler Reddick, who helped RCR take a step forward.

2022 ride: Ran 18 Cup Series races in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet and compiled 8 top-10s and the best average finish in his Cup career. Finished 5th in Xfinity Series points driving full-time for Kaulig, earning five victories for the second consecutive season.

New ride in 2023: Allmendinger is full-time in the Cup Series in 2023, driving the same car for Kaulig alongside teammate Justin Haley.

2022 ride: Drove in 10 Truck Series, 3 Xfinity Series and 2 Cup Series races with various teams after losing his Cup Series full-time ride with JTG-Daugherty Racing after the 2021 season. Won a Truck Series race in Nashville.

New ride in 2023: Preece replaces Cole Custer in the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford.

2022 ride: Won 8 races and finished 2nd in the Xfinity Series points while driving for JR Motorsports. Ran 18 races in the Cup Series for three teams, including five races in relief of Alex Bowman for Hendrick Motorsports at the end of 2022.

New ride in 2023: Gragson moves to the Cup Series full-time, replacing Ty Dillon in the No. 42 Legacy Motor Club Chevrolet.

2022 ride: Finally got on the board with three wins and a playoff berth in the No. 8 RCR Chevrolet. Set career-highs in laps led, top-5s and top-10s in his third full season in the Cup Series.

New ride in 2023: Reddick fills the seat vacated by the retiring Kurt Busch, in the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota alongside teammate Bubba Wallace. Busch won at Kansas last year, so this is a competitive ride for Reddick.

2022 ride: Won the Xfinity Series Championship in the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota while also subbing for Kurt Busch in the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota to mixed results.

New ride in 2023: Gibbs will run his rookie season in the Cup Series driving for his grandfather in the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

2022 ride: Climbed into the No. 42 Petty GMS Chevrolet for the full season and struggled to a 29th-place finish in the points with 1 top-10.

New ride in 2023: Dillon moves into the second Spire Motorsports car, the No. 77 Chevrolet alongside Corey Lajoie.

2022 ride: Drove full-time in the IndyCar Series for Chip Ganassi Racing, earning two top-10s and finishing 21st in the points standings.

New ride in 2023: Johnson bought a stake in what was Petty GMS Racing and will run a limited schedule in the No. 84 Chevrolet for the re-named Legacy Motor Club, including the Daytona 500.
