Cleaning fans have been left amazed by a bargain product that can bring yellow stained pillows and sheets back to bright white.

It doesn't matter how much you wash your bedding or how clean you keep your hair, pillows and sheets can very easily turn yellow. A number of factors lead to the yellowing, be it sweat, oily or damp hair - but it all leads to the same unappealing colouring.

And it can be tempting to throw them out when they start to look like this, however there is a much easier and much cheaper solution. Mrs Hinch fans took to Facebook to share their budget-friendly advice to keeping pillows white, and one cheap product came out on top.

The Mirror reports that a woman posted in the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group asking: "New white company bedding. What is the best washing method to keep it white - other than just a whites wash?"

The comment section of the post was flooded with helpful advice and lots of solutions to the common issue of keeping whites completely white. Most people agreed that one product in particular was the best: "Dr. Beckmans white sachets."

Dr. Beckmann Glowhite is a very popular household product and in many supermarkets and online retailer Amazon, it costs only £1.50, However, the MEN reports that the whitening product can be found for as cheap as 79p at Asda.

Other suggestions to help keep bedding looking fresh were also shared, with one person commenting: "White vinegar in softener tray, bicarb, always white and smells lovely for longer. Doing this for years. Good luck."

Another added: "A scoop of Napisan." And a third shared: "Wrong time of year, but drying in the sunshine!"
